I've been going through fandom calendar again, so many stuff that would be fun to do. There's [community profile] traumaticexperiences which I nominated some stuff for but idk if I'll be able to participate if there's enough people for the fandoms I'm in. Then [personal profile] candyheartsex which is more likely to be better since there are more people in it, someone also submitted for the same fandoms I'm in. Last but not least [community profile] pmanniversaryexchange's Limbus anni exhcange which is probably the one I'll have the least trouble with, even with my picky shipping preferences. I'm also realizing it was a good call to make one of my bingo goals no more than 5 exchanges instead of the initial 3 because if I do manage to get these I wouldn't be able to participate in any other later in the year lol. I won't count unmatched ones for this as I don't get anything out of it.

When it comes to non-exchange events, I'm mentally preparing a fic for [community profile] ficwip's Hey Sweetheart event. I also signed up for [community profile] fandom_empire's Monopoly event round. I did an event there earlier in 2025 for the Fortune Wheel round, but didn't really do that well since it wasn't the best time in life due to a lot of irl stuff, so focusing on events over writing for pleasure and specific prompts wasn't enjoyable for me. Hopefully this round will to somewhat well.

I also realized it would probably be good to outline of my alvaluca fic ideas, specifically the omegaverse one since it has multiple chapters and could use some better planning. I guess this is the year where I take my planning of fics a lot more seriously.

This week also apprears to have a lot of updates back to back or really close to each other when it comes to most of my games. COA drops on the next update on Thursday, the same day we get part 2 of Limbus new canto story. We got Christmas uma event yesterday, which is actually fitting as Ortodox Christmas is tomorrow.

Challenge #3

Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.

Dear Fandom,

Ever since I was a homesick fourteen year old with access to fast internet for the first time, you've been my constant companion. Hubs may come and go, specific fandoms too, but the idea of finding a book or a show or a movie, finding something to love and wanting to talk and talk, and read and read, and write and write, is always there.

Thank you for the over 800k words I've written and shared over the years. Thank you for the friends I've made, the skills I've learned, and the hours I've spent with something wonderful to think about instead of what was scary or sad in my life just then. Thank you for the distraction. Thank you for the joy.

Here's to all the loves I've found with you, and all the loves I've yet to find!

Love,

The third [community profile] snowflake_challenge prompt is to write a letter to fandom. I’m running on about an hour of sleep, so this likely won’t be particularly elegant, but I’m going to give is a shot.

Dear fandom,

It's joyful to meet people who are enthusiastic about the same media /characters/etc! I love when you're creative and show me new ideas and insight. I am also thankful when you're supportive of my writings and ideas. I have a great time and hope you all enjoy yourselves!

With love,

From now on I will write my handora impression on my sideblog! Because I feel I will talk a lot of those and most likely will post a lot headcanon/theory there

anyway, I just finished handora prologue & Cult of Takumi route! Feel free to read the impression!

I don't care about that gay jockey show but reading the discourse surrounding the director statement is insane & I am fucking convinced people has low-reading comprehension

in no way he said that women should be erased from media for feminist solution, he literally just say that some women find comfort being removed in narrative regarding romance & sexual depiction in gay romance, like how come people took it as that ''ooh women should be erased from narrative in every media!" like what? that's no what he said & he just relayed what women say to her, trying to understand the perspective of women who loves gay romance because people cannot stop pathologizing women interest & constantly call them fetishizer lol

between this and that Bocchi The Rock scriptwriter discourse, I'm really not a fucking fan with taking a statement that has clumsy wording with NO malicious intention and people twisting it into something malicious,I really beg people to have fucking nuance & work on your goddamn reading comprehension!!! English is my second-language, even I UNDERSTAND that's not what he mean

really nice to see all Gold ichizoku clan made it into yumejo 2025 ranking!! Congrats Fenomeno, Janni, Orfe, and also the dad, Stego! I am laughing so hard, japanese yumejo call Gold ichizoku as ''mass-produced umas for yume" family. It's nice to see Janni still made it this year!

I really love handora fandom vibe. Really remind me so much of old school fandom vibes, everyone there is just massive horny and no weird moralistic discourse. 2010s dangan ronpa fandom vibes

Seeing modern fandom being explicitly perverted in this current year is like finding that good restaurant with tasy food among many bland food chain

damn I am so busy with handora that I forgot my plan to read some yuri manga for review.....

I am so addicted eating this preserved kiamboy (?) or plum in english, I think? it's such good snack because it's preserved fruit and very sweet too! and it's healthy yay

Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.

I love the Identity V fandom, at least the creative side of it. I've seen many amazing writers and artist make some of the most beautiful art and fic, and it all really came from the silly doll dress up game. The setting is perfect for making aus, the manor au, making an essence setting au, you name it. Even modern aus can be fun. You can do so much with the characters and the settings the game gives you, including a fair amount of freedom when writing for the characters and ships. Weather you follow the canon or not, there is something for everyone.

I've loved all the fics I've read for my favourite ships. There are some amazing writers out there. I focus mostly on this since that's what I'm familiar with the most, and man, I've had so much fun writing for these guys in the past 3 years. Hell, the day I'm posting and writing this is the day I posted my first ever IDV fic back in 2023. I'm still here, still kicking and having fun, even with everything going on. I do really love these little guys enough to write them this much.

So, this second [community profile] snowflake_challenge prompt is about pets. While I could write about fictional pets, of which my canons have many, I’m going to write about my babies. I have two cats. Greyson is a floofy middle-aged boy with Manx characteristics, including the bobtail, and the looks of a Niebelung. He’s made of floof and love and has about half a brain cell on a good day. Whiskey is a very smol void with attitude for days. She chose me as her human and likes to be on me whenever possible. Pictures under the cut!

I’m determined to catch up with the [community profile] snowflake_challenge, so introduction ho! I’m meerkat, known as whimsicalmeerkat everywhere on the web with a reasonable character limit and meerkatwhim or meerkatwhimsy everywhere else. I’m doing this challenge in part because I want to start using dreamwidth more and I’ve heard it’s a good way to meet people. I’m a latecomer to fandom, starting in my mid-thirties, but I have the soul of a fandom old. I have two modes: Teen Wolf and teensy-tiny book fandoms. I’ve got a master fic list in progress on my blog, so definitely check that out!

2025 Year in fandom meme

Snagged from [personal profile] starterpack

Your main fandom of the year? I would probably say MCU, but X-Men would definitely be in second place. Fallout, High Potential and Wednesday took over my brain for most of the year as well. ;) Heated Rivalry took up most of my brain power within the last half of December (and still has it, if this post is anything to go by). ;P

Your favourite film watched this year? Thunderbolts* with Superman (2025) a close second. Fantastic Four: First Steps would probably be third along with Jurassic World: Rebirth.

Your favourite book read this year? The Long Game by Rachel Reid, but before I read that one I'd probably have said Zomromcom by Olivia Dade and The Accidental Housemate by Sal Thomas.

Your favourite TV show of the year? Heated Rivalry along with Doc, SkyMed, Wednesday, High Potential, and Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Ghosts (US) is also still really good. Maxton Hall was oddly addictive?

Your favourite online fandom community of the year? I think it would have to say probably [community profile] 100ships mainly because other than [community profile] mcu100 & [community profile] xmen100 I was inspired a lot by it. I'll also say [community profile] seasons_of_fandom, [community profile] ships20in20, [community profile] lgbtrainbow - I made a lot of icons because of these communities. Seriously apparently, I made over 1k of icons last year???? I have them in a separate folder than my original icons so I could know what's new for my website. I knew I made a lot... but I did not expect that number (I haven't even officially "released" a lot of them other than on my website).

Your best new fandom discovery of the year? Heated Rivalry/Game Changers

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year? I can't really think of anything??? I mean last year was the series finale of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory which sucks. We have to wait x amount of years for new season of Wednesday and SkyMed.

Your biggest squee moment of the year? Heated Rivalry episodes 4-6 probably, especially the last one. Before that I would say Wednesday's last episode of Season 2 (Weyler fans know what I'm talking about).

The most missed of your old fandoms? I read a lot of MCU, X-Men and Harry Potter fic. I can't remember if I branched out to any other old fandoms of mine. Oh wait! There was a couple Ghost Whisperer fics I read...

The fandom you haven’t tried yet, but want to? I can't really think of any.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year? The rest of High Potential Season 2, Ghosts (US) Season 5, and any other returning shows that I like either coming back from break or a new season.

I was able to finish my antodrew fic for tomorrow, so that was a nice achievement of the day. It is rather short but I'm happy with how it turned out considering it's mostly for building up what's to come.

I'm not also thinking of which one to work on next. I'm thinking of the gregclair idea I mentioned here, as a Limbus fic should be next. But I'm also thinking of a dmnoir fic for one of the bingos, including a Lifeless Stars chapter. I haven't posted anything in that fic for almost a year (at the end of the month it will be a full year). I need to also work on 'Let me down slowly' as I'm midway through the chapter.

I spent some time this afternoon writing summaries of chapters for a longer fic that has been on my mind for a while. It's a haseli fic, it would have a total of 11 chapters if nothing changes from what I wrote down. I haven't done many longer fics and this one has a potential of being nice length while not as long as Lifeless Stars. I think it could work out if I actually write it down for once.

I also tired out AppFlowy. It's Notion but open source. They have a lot of similarities, and the advantage of being able to use it on Linux (which doesn't seem to be the case for Notion on PC. I haven't seen it there at all, though there probably is a workaround). I've never used these since they're promoted as the "productivity apps to get you to work more instead of doing other things like fun!" but I do need a way to track some of my stuff. This works on both my PC and phone so I can edit it if something needs a change. Will mostly use it for writing reasons, like ideas on the go and things like chapter plans.

I'm also realizing I'm at times not sure how to title my journals. I can leave them with no subject, but that's kinda boring. Right now I used a random emoji. Maybe I could use those when I'm struggling to title things?
